World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item allows players to boost an item's gear rating up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.
Certain items are worth upgrading due to their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly rolled breakpoint armor used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't change much after an upgrade and therefore aren't worth the cost.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats such as damage to attack, crit chance as well as PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. Some weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a single unit. In some instances, this bonus could amount to more than the amount of damage that a weapon is able to upgrade by itself.
The cost of upgrading a weapon is contingent on its rarity and current level. For example the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.
Upgraded weapons can also alter their base stats. While this is usually beneficial however, it could have negative consequences as well. item upgrade can render items impossible to use, unless you are exceptionally lucky.
The ability to upgrade armor items to boost their stats. This can boost the defense base of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense%, meaning that it may change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain when upgrading, along with the relative value of those stats. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will strike for 3 times less often as it is an absolute statistic.
A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button that has arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an item and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or tie it to the account status.
Armor
A few tweaks to your armor could make a a huge difference in your ability to endure. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, making the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has the more value you get out of each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as much as possible.
To upgrade your armor, head to one of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game, and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of material needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Horns for each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, for instance can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to remain competitive in frigid conditions with a large number of foes. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded to +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with your friends.
You can't upgrade your armor like weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior it is best to focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or spell power. It is recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor you'll still wear at the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town and you will be able to gain some benefits to your armor. In general, you should keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game, such as the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer, but it can be useful to have a few upgrades of the helmets and chest armor that permit you to sneak past certain monsters.
Potions
Potions are liquid substances that, when consumed give the user an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each having particular effects and durations. Some potions can be upgraded to enhance their effectiveness. Additionally the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to them.
Upgrades to your potion require a specific amount XP. This can be obtained through crafting them on a crafting table or by storing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the upgrade price changes depending on what kind of potion you wish to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potions simply right-click on it in your inventory. Select "Upgrade" from the menu. This will open a GUI that lets you select the potions that you want to upgrade and the amount of experience they will give you when upgraded. Upgrades to potions can be made in batches of up to five at a time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP level.
When a poton is upgraded, it will not degrade unless you take it out again or break the bottle within the container it is stored. You can also change the name of the potion by clicking on it in your inventory.
There were some changes to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For instance, splash potions now have the duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds displayed on the item hover display). The table of potion can now be made using four Wood Planks and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same is true for using a potion within the cauldron that is filled. This will drain the potion and refill the bottle.
Finally, there are lingering potions that are brewed with splash and dragon breath potions. Similar to lingering potions, the effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions are also added, like the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket is an ornament that is small and inexpensive or piece jewelry. It could also refer to a piece of art or a decoration that serves a purpose, but isn't particularly significant like a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to symbolize affection or friendship, specifically between family members.
In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players can upgrade their trinkets. They can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate amount in currency. Trinkets unlike other items that can be upgraded can be exchanged at any time without losing stats.
The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is an affordable alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade players for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base level as the old trinket however, it will also come with an additional bonus of 1% upgrade.
When the old Trinkets are no longer useful, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value with time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.
In general players should make upgrades to their highest priority items first. This usually refers to the most valuable-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they will not be replacing in the near future (for example an earring or cloak). When deciding on which items to upgrade, players must also consider the preferred statistics of their class. For instance If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for a tank, they should prioritize upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they no longer have value and the new trinket can be upgraded to have an additional upgrade bonus of 1. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it is salvaged with a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, however it is still cheaper than buying a new one.
